Jerusalem, a city which can be considered as one of the most talked about and disputed cities in the world because of Israel-Palestine conflict. The recent update regarding this conflict, which has created a stir all over the world is the action taken by Trump Administration yesterday.
President Donald Trump on 6th December recognized the disputed city of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. A decision historic in nature and which overturns years of US policy. It has created a risk of triggering violence in the Middle East.
Trump’s decision regarding Jerusalem:
“I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” Trump said from the White House. It’s the right thing to do”. Trump has also ordered to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

This decision questions the diplomatic uncertainty of the holy city claimed by both Israelis and Palestinians. He considered this decision to mark the new approach to solve the conflict between the two countries.
“Whether it’s courage or they changed their mind, I can’t tell you,” he said. “I think it’s long overdue.” This decision has made many allies of US angry. Pope Francis also was one of those leaders. He gave warning of a historic blunder that could cause a surge of violence.
“I cannot silence my deep concern over the situation that has emerged in recent days,” the pontiff said Wednesday, one day after speaking by phone with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas.
